What a profound, well-written, book. Not only this book touches a sensitive subject but it encompasses around realistic (and emotional) situations.
The Same Deep Water is a new adult romance set in Australia. This is the story of two people living in the present and accidentally creating a future neither of them can see, and learning ten things on a bucket list are just the edge of the world they could have.
Just from that little blurb, I got a hint (a huge one, really) that this book would definitely give me the feels. But, I don't really know what to expect with this book. Would this be super sad, sappy, or something else entirely? I'm not sure at first. But let me tell you, after reading this, the word that comes to my mind is: incomparable. There are lots of books that deals with the same stuff like this book did but something in the way it was written, the way it was presented, that makes it more unique.
The characters of this book felt real. The way they think, the way they talk or not talk, even their subtlest action, is startlingly realistic.
I've always thought that the greatest book would be the book that you would, in a heartbeat, give five stars, but maybe I was wrong; maybe the greatest book is the book that would not only be unforgettable but also a book that would leave a mark. And this book definitely left a mark, a dent even.
Overall, it has been an emotional and enjoyable read. Pretty ironic right?
Did I like the ending? Uhmmm, yes! Is that even a question?
Is it a page turner? Heck yeah.
Would I re-read it again? I'll definitely read it but I'll most likely skim it (to the bawl-your-eyes out parts)
