Waiting on Wednesday (#7): Ten Thousand Skies Above You
'Waiting on' Wednesday is a weekly feature/meme created by Breaking the Spine. This is basically for the books that we've been anticipating.
Ten Thousand Skies Above You
by Claudia Gray
Series: Firebird (#2)
Publisher: Harper Teen
Expected publication date: November 3rd 2015
Synopsis (from Goodreads)
Ever since she used the Firebird, her parents' invention, to cross into alternate dimensions, Marguerite has caught the attention of enemies who will do anything to force her into helping them dominate the multiverse—even hurting the people she loves. She resists until her boyfriend, Paul, is attacked and his consciousness scattered across multiple dimensions.
Marguerite has no choice but to search for each splinter of Paul’s soul. The hunt sends her racing through a war-torn San Francisco, the criminal underworld of New York City, and a glittering Paris where another Marguerite hides a shocking secret. Each world brings Marguerite one step closer to rescuing Paul. But with each trial she faces, she begins to question the destiny she thought they shared.
I've only heard of Claudia Gray when they came to Philippines for a book signing. I didn't have the opportunity to meet her but I do have an autographed copy of the first book in this series.
Can we take a moment for the beautiful and well-though book cover and title [although it was a mouthful, it slides gracefully when you say it, innit?]? It would look great together with the first one.
Anyway, cover aside, I loved the first book (I rated it 4/5 stars) and I'm excited in what Claudia Gray will do in this book; in what would unravel, what I would discover.
Curious about the book? You could leave questions to Claudia Gray's site and she'll (probably) reply. (I'm not really sure about this one but if you're really curious, you can check it out or you could ask Claudia a question in Goodreads)
What are you currently waiting on?

It reminds me a little of 2 very different older books. One is The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch where the princess has to rescue the prince instead of the other way around. And the other is The Number of the Beast by Robert Heinlein where they travel via a machine across different parallel realities. Hope it's great! Thanks for sharing it.

I still haven't read the first one yet! I own it (I actually bought it on the day it was released), but haven't gotten to it. Perhaps soon! Great pick!
