A bookstagram caption (see below for the bookstagram post) that I did this week, inspired me to list down [more] K-drama recommendations, this time with their corresponding posters and synopsis.
Anyway, without further ado, here are my favorite on-going and completed K-dramas.
Note: These shows are available for streaming/downloading either on Netflix or Viu.

Synopsis:  Set in the year 1988, it revolves around five friends and their families living in the same neighborhood of Ssangmun-dong, Dobong District, Northern Seoul.


Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo

Synopsis: A coming-of-age story about a group of college athletes who are fighting for their dreams, experiencing and finding love in the process, and growing every step of the way.

Synopsis: In the year 1993, pop idol Yoo Hyun-Jae accidentally travels through time to 2017. Meanwhile, Lee Ji-Hoon is an aspiring musician and is secretly enrolled as an idol trainee at Star Punch Entertainment. Ji-hoon struggles to hide this from his parents, who believe he has been studying for his civil service exams.

Synopsis: A story about Boo Yong-joo (Han Suk-kyu), a genius and triple-board certified surgeon, who was once at the top of his field and used to work at Seoul's top hospital, Geosan University. After a traumatic incident, he disappears and changes his name to Kim Sa-bu. He begins working at a small hospital named Doldam, located in Gangwon Province. He guides Kang Dong-joo (Yoo Yeon-seok) and Yoon Seo-jeong (Seo Hyun-jin) to become great doctors by teaching them to fight against power and money for the sake of patients.

Dr. Romantic 2

Synopsis: Three years following the events of Dr. Romantic, Kim Sa-bu (Han Suk-kyu) comes to Geosan University Hospital to recruit a general surgeon. He finds Seo Woo-jin (Ahn Hyo-seop), a doctor with a troubled past who is ostracized by his fellow doctors, and offers him the job. In the meantime, Cha Eun-jae (Lee Sung-kyung) is suspended after making another mistake in the operation room and has no other choice but to follow the two doctors to Doldam Hospital.

Fight for My Way

Synopsis: The story is about underdogs with big dreams and third-rate specs struggling to survive, and craving for success with a career they're underqualified for. A long time friendship is blossoming into romance between two immature friends Ko Dong-man (Park Seo-joon) and Choi Ae-ra (Kim Ji-won) whose childish dynamic hasn't changed despite reaching adulthood.

Her Private Life

Synopsis: A drama-romance between Ha Won (Jung Hae-In) and Han Seo-woo (Chae Soo-Bin). Ha Won is an AI programmer and he is the founder of M&H Company. He is a consistent person with a good heart. Meanwhile, Han Seo-woo works as a classical music recording engineer. Her life is unstable without a family or house, but she is a positive person.

While You Were Sleeping

Genre: Romance, fantasy, thriller, legal drama
Synopsis: While You Were Sleeping is a combination of the legal drama and fantasy genres, focusing on the tale of three young adults who have acquired the ability to see the future through their dreams: field reporter Nam Hong-joo (Bae Suzy), rookie prosecutor Jung Jae-chan (Lee Jong-suk), and police officer Han Woo-tak (Jung Hae-in). Some of these dreams show crimes that Jae-chan has to investigate and disastrous events that either the three of them have to suffer. Troubled by these dreams, the trio collaborate with each other to prevent these ominous dreams from turning into reality and to take down one of their archenemies, the corrupt lawyer Lee Yoo-beom (Lee Sang-yeob).

That’s all the K-dramas I can think of right now. I tried to list the K-dramas that wasn’t that mainstream but I have to include some ‘cause they’re my favorite.
