I've read Alexis Bass' debut novel and I got to admit I was skeptical with this book because I didn't enjoy reading it ― the debut novel, that is. But this book is a step up (for me, anyway) from her debut novel. This book was raw, intense, heartbreakingly beautiful.

Graduation night is the most exciting ending in our lives but not for Amanda Tart's town. Almost two years ago, on a graduation night, a sophomore girl was killed from a drunk driving accident. Amanda's brother, Jonathan was behind the wheel, drunk but still recklessly drove.

After spending the past year in prison and in radio silence, Jonathan is going home. Amanda don't know what to feel about this; then she was paired up with Henry, the brother of Jonathan's ex-girlfriend that survived―albeit with serious injuries―the accident, and everything just don't know what to do about it. Amanda and Henry are really attracted with each other but that night still haunts them especially when they feel like they could've prevented the accident to happen. Can Amanda and Henry finally begin to heal what’s broken and find some peace?

I'm in love with this book. I mean, come on, I almost want to narrate what happened to the book just so people would understand what I feel.

The book was meticulously constructed and it has a melancholy feeling into it. The premise didn't really cover much because this book was hauntingly beautiful, seriously. 

Despite the melancholy feel this books has, the characters were fun to follow. Pretty ironic, considering there was very little "fun" the characters had undergone. Anyway, the MC were, I guess, well developed. I love her. The other characters such as Jonathan and Henry were properly developed as well but I would've love it more if there were flashbacks with Grace (the girl killed in the accident) and if there were some scenes that involve Sutton, minus the alcohol.

Overall, this book left me so sad, in, ironically, a good way. This was something I would definitely recommend. Of all the books I've read this year, this book surprised me the most.

Did I like the ending? Yes, it was pretty vague but I love vague endings.

Is it a page turner? Oh, definitely.

Would I re-read it again? A million times yes.
