I received a paperback copy of this, which I didn't expect, so thank you so much Revell Reads!

Historical fiction is a favorite genre of mine. I've been obsessing over history facts so to say that I'm excited for this book was a grave understatement. And I'm not disappointed. In fact, I was surprised at my reaction for this book. I didn't expect to like it so much. Plus, a World War II romance? Romance?! Now, that's a surprisingly great combination.

This is my first SS novel and I'm very pleased with her writing style. Not entirely unique but she has a touch of her own in every pages. This book was written in two point of views, Ensign Jim Avery's and secretary Mary Stirling's. It leads to mystery, adventure and, of course, romance.

Jim and Mary were very easy to like. I mean, Jim was such a sweetie, despite his un-"suave" moves, and Mary was a dear, despite of her, frankly comical, issues. Together, both of them are a very great couple! I love the added element of mystery and adventure to their relationship. Nothing better than a navy officer and a secretary playing Sherlock Holmes and Nancy Drew. But this book was a great example of  "Simple complication, miscommunication leads to fall out." Jim and Mary did not have an easy road to travel, with their loops in loops of second thinking. It has me frustrated when they just don't want to admit things and kept on guessing the other's feelings.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book so much! This is one of the books that I didn't know I would like so much but this one reserved a spot in my favorite-book-evah-shelf. I have a feeling that I would also love the next book because Arch was a supporting character that I enjoyed reading. Now, I'll just have to wait until 2016.

Did I like the ending? Yes! I loved it, even.
Is it a page turner? Uh-uh. This book is definitely a page turner! The story was very exciting and gripping you'll want to finish the whole before putting it down.
Would I re-read it again? Yes.
