July Quibbler Box
When I came home yesterday, I saw this (open!) box waiting for me. It was Old Soul Store's Quibbler Box!
Quibbler box is a monthly subscription box and this was the first YA subscription box in the Philippines. I haven't subscribed to any subscription box because it was dang expensive and when I saw this on Old Soul Store's Instagram account, I instantly subscribed. Talk about impulsive buyer.
Anyway, when you subscribe to this, you'll receive
1 Newly Released YA Book tailored to the chosen theme (changes every month)
2 E-Books
2-4 Exclusive Bookish Items by Old Soul Store (ex. jewelry, totes, bookmarks, notebooks, pins, stamps, etc) [also Quibbler's Guide]
This month, the theme is magical realism.
The July box contains:
Bone Gap by Laura Ruby is a highly-rated Magical Realism YA book. I've seen this book in many blogs and vlogs. This book was pretty hard to find (Fully Booked, if they have one, was pretty far from our home), so I'm pretty glad that this was included in the box.
There are also 2 handmade bookmarks with quotes from Bone Gap and The Raven Boys (both of which are in my TBR pile), both highly-rated and bestselling YA books considered as the most promising magical realism book ever written.
The box also have a (handmade) tote bag that says "We the Makers" in fancy typography. I haven't had a tote bag so this seems pretty new to me. It was a high quality tote bag (I guess?) nonetheless.
One handmade magnet inspired by almost every bibliophile's favorite series, Harry Potter. This magnet sticks to any metal surface and is water-resistant. I can testify that this was indeed a magnet and can stick to any metal surface, I'm not sure about the water-resistant part though.
Bibliphile glass dome necklace with a book charm. If you can't read what was written, it says:
bibliophile Early 19th c: French, Greek βιβλιο- (biblio-, “of or pertaining to books”) + φίλος (phÃlos, 'loving': a lover of books; also: a book collector.
This has this vintage thing going on and it looks really great! I'm not sure I would wear this one, though. I don't wear necklaces. This just adds to my collection of will-not-be-used bookish stuff.
On the day the box was dispatched, I received an email about my free ebooks.
I haven't heard of this books before but I guess I'll give this two a try.

Overall, I was really glad that I subscribed to July Quibbler Box. BUT, the experience was pretty underwhelming. I'm anticipating for something more, I guess. I would like to subscribe for the next box but I'm broke, so yeah.
