Review + Giveaway || Chasing River by K.A. Tucker

Premise - Kathleen (Tucker) surely knows how to make her novels unique. This book focuses on two people that met on an accident, like, literally an accident. This book touches several sensitive subjects that most author avoid.
This reminds me of Gotham and a rom-com movie (that I forgot the title, dammit!). It was a mixture of both. The problem here is, political somethings bores me; this book even tosses out some words like "terrorism." This book was a lot darker and angst-ier than Burying Water. That's saying something because Burying Water is dark.

Character/s - At first, I thought River was a girl. Hey, don't judge me, that's a girl on the cover. Anyway, River came off (to me, at the very least), as a mysterious, emphatic and honest ― pretty ironic, I know, with all the truth he withheld and lies he told― character. Amber, on the other hand, was an independent, strong yet un-cautious lady― which was pretty evident, considering she's travelling the world alone. Together, this two was really sweet and cute amidst the dark setting of the book. They were a pretty dynamic couple.

The supporting characters really help in developing the story and characters. Ivy, however indifferent she acts, is a true friend; she helped Amber into becoming a more mature and evolved character.
Rowen, my sweet sweet Rowen, was my favorite character in this book. He's funny and a force to be reckoned with. Without this two, I don't know what would happen with Amber & River's relationship.

Writing technique/style - Last year, back when I've read my first K.A. Tucker novel, I fell in love with her way of writing. She uses dual point of views. This helps in developing not only the structure of the story but the setting as well.

Misc. - I may have been bored reading some parts of this but I love the ending. I also love the element of surprise that was tied with the bucket list and the bucket list itself.
Favorite scene? When Amber's dad joked about River's name
Is it a page turner? Hell yes, but I have to put it several times to condition my mind with the setting.
Am I excited for the next book? You bet I am.
